Eligibility: Citizens and permanent residents of U.S; must be doctoral candidates, i.e. students who have completed all degree requirements preliminary to the dissertation; at least some ability in the language of the host country

Annual awards to allow individuals to pursue research or study in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and/or Denmark for a period of up to one year. Funds cover travel, tuition, books, photocopying, art supplies, and fees. Postmark deadline for applications from American candidates extended to Nov 6.
